Stein Valley Nlakapamux School (SVNS) has created a successful agricultural program that engages students in new activities, encourages food sustainability, and promotes agency building among students. The school used their 2019-2020 Healthy Schools BC First Nations School Grant to help expand their sustainable school farm, which now includes multiple gardens, barns, several animal shelters and pastures, three goats, two ponies, and two pigs. SVNS has plans to continue to grow their school farm in order to expand their student’s understanding of their relationship to plants and animals. Read more about their story here.
