Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind. It is a day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, as well as all of those who have been affected. It is a day to commit to honouring every child and acknowledging that every child matters.
This year, the National Center for Truth and Reconciliation is hosting a free, virtual event for youth in grades 5-12. Educators can register their class for video events to learn firsthand from Residential School Survivors, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, artists and leaders from nations and cultures across the country.
