November 20th is National Child Day

National Child Day is celebrated in recognition of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Today, more than ever before, children and youth are leading change in the world. They aren’t waiting for adults to make change. Marches, petitions, protests, campaigns, in the streets, on social media and at the United Nations. Children and youth are taking over to create the future they want to see.

On November 20th, UNICEF Canada is asking Canadians to help #KidsTakeOver. This is our chance to hear from kids themselves on the issues and solutions that matter to them. It’s a day for kids, by kids, and everyone can get involved. To learn more about National Child Day and to download a toolkit to run your own Kids Takeover, visit UNICEF Canada’s ONE Youth.
