Staff at Captain James Cook Elementary School in SD 39 made it a school goal to ensure that all of their students would be physically literate throughout the entirety of their lives. In order to see this goal through, their school community decided to elect student leaders to promote healthy active living by organizing weekly events and fitness activities. Although students had the responsibility to lead the change in school climate around physical literacy and physical activity, their initiative was a collaborative effort that also involved teachers, administration, and their PAC.
