This year our Health is Wealth Club focused on school connectedness and healthy eating. The club hosted “Tea Tuesdays” where group members took turns welcoming students in the mornings in the student center with a free fresh cup of tea and a biscuit (that is if they brought their own recyclable cup or environmentally sound mug). Students were encouraged to hangout, talk or play board games. This event has been running now for the past two years and is a big hit!
The club also hosted a free fun day/BBQ in conjunction with the Leadership class towards the end of the school year to help students relax before heading into exam week. We had a big turnout with lots of participation and laughs.
The club also joined in with the new Hydroponics program at the school by helping to fund and grow fresh produce which was in turn used to make a fresh salad which was served to students to help promote Healthy Eating.
On behave of PVSS’ Health is Wealth Club we would like to thank the Healthy Schools Network for providing us with the funds to help us in all our endeavours.
