Human Rights Day is observed on December 10 to note the day that the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. This declaration proclaims the rights that all human beings are entitled to, and is available in more than 500 languages. This year, the theme of Human Rights Day is “Recover Better – Stand Up For Human Rights.” This theme focuses on the need to build back better after the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring Human Rights are central to the recovery efforts.
