Would you like to use food in your classroom to inspire your students to be healthier eaters? Enhance your teaching—apply for a mini food grant this September!

Every year, the BC Dairy Association awards teachers with Mini Food Grants to purchase food to enhance nutrition education efforts in the classroom. To be eligible for a grant, you must be teaching one of our programs (listed here) this school year. The grants are meant to enrich these programs, many of which come with a beautiful class set of student workbooks!

It’s wonderful to see how teachers are inspired by our nutrition education programs to find simple, yet creative, ways to encourage students to develop healthier eating habits. Despite teachers using readily available and common foods, many students are trying these foods for the first time in the classroom! During the 2015-2016 school year, the BC Dairy Association gave away 140 Mini Food Grants to teachers in BC.

Answers to the top 10 frequently asked questions about the grants can be found here. The deadline for the first round of grants is October 7, 2016, so apply soon! More Mini Food Grants will be available in January 2017 for those who do not receive a grant during the first round. Contact for further details.
