Farm to School BC is pleased to be growing the Farm to School network. Thinking about starting a Farm to School program at your school? You can now submit an application for a grant of up to $4000 to plan and initiate a new program at your school. There are so many great reasons to start a Farm to School program—Farm to School programs bring healthy, local food into schools and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that foster food literacy, all while strengthening the local food system and enhancing school and community connectedness. Want to learn more?  Grant applications and information can be found here. The deadline for proposals is December 19, 2014.

Fact Sheet
Farm to School BC has recently released a new communications tool, the Farm to School Fact Sheet. Developed in collaboration with Farm to Cafeteria Canada, this new fact sheet helps to frame Farm to School into three core elements: 

  • Healthy, local food
  • Hands-on learning
  • School and community connectedness
